DINNER RECIPE:

PHILLY CHEESESTEAK SLOPPY JOES

Steak sauce was a staple in my house growing up so eating it always brings back great childhood memories. This meal is super tasty and super easy. And who doesn't love a good Philly Cheesesteak (even it if is only a sloppy joe version...)?

Makes: 4-6 servings
Cooking time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef
1 onion, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
1/4 cup Steak sauce
1 cup beef broth
Provolone Cheese, sliced
Hamburger buns

Directions:

Turn the oven onto broil.

Cook the beef over medium-high heat. Once fully cooked, add the onion and pepper and saute for 3 more minutes. Add the steak sauce and beef broth. Let simmer until sauce thickens slightly.

Put a slice of provolone in one side of the bun and butter the other side. Place on a pan and put in the oven for 3-5 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the bun starts to get toasty.

Put a scoop of the meat mixture on one side of the bun, drizzle with a little steak sauce, and top it with the other.

  1. My husband LOVES Philly cheese anything. I didn't have all the ingredients for this recipe on hand so here is my version:

Dice some green pepper and onion then saute in a warm pan until soft. Add some ground beef to the mix and stir until browned. Add some teaspoon of garlic powder, a tablespoon of parsley, and a good dose of salt and pepper. Add one block of cream cheese and stir until melted. Serve over some crusty bread. Tasty!
