DINNER RECIPE:
Cedar Plank Salmon Marinade
This recipe is adapted from Weber’s Real Grilling cook book and it is absolutely delicious. In this book,
it tells you to grill the salmon on a soaked plank of cedar wood. The first time my husband and I made
this recipe it was mind blowing, but the second time we almost burned our house down because we
didn’t soak the plank long enough. We were too scared to try the cedar plank again so we had to adapt
the recipe to be a safer version.
Makes: Enough marinade for 2 Salmon fillets
Cook Time: 10 minutes to mix up
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon dried or fresh cilantro
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper; you can make our own here
1/4 cup olive oil
Directions:
Mix all the ingredients together in a plastic gallon bag. Pat the salmon fillets dry and then place them in the bag with the marinade.
Marinate the salmon fillets in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Cook the salmon using your favorite method. I really like to BBQ mine.
